When Sveta published her peeptoe flat tutorial earlier I knew I had to try it. I had ordered the ballet flat last in a smaller size since I realized my fit problems weren't really pattern errors per say but a last that was a tad too big. So when I was compensating for a last that was too long I was overfitting the topline and sacrificing comfort.
So now I have two lasts in the same style an 8.5 and a 9 so I did the pattern part of the tutorial on both sizes and cut up prototypes out of some scrap leather and some cardboard. Now these are no works of art but they are a start. I'm going to make the two pairs up in some selvedge denim lined with black lambskin which I got on serious sale on ebay. I did make two patterns from the same basic pattern for each size. A peep toe as pictured and a closed toe. I'm going to make one of each. Maybe ending up making 4 pairs? I want to see if I make 2 pairs simultaneously if the time taken is 2x as long or as I suspect 1.2x as long.
